United Way of Morgan County Celebrates 85 Years at Small Business Awards

United Way of Morgan County proudly marked its 85th anniversary during the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Awards celebration. It was a meaningful moment to reflect on decades of service, community partnerships, and lasting impact across Morgan County. We are deeply grateful to the Chamber for hosting such a beautiful event and for the continued support of local businesses and organizations that help us build a stronger, more united community.

Lacey's Spring Peer Helpers Spend the Day Giving Back to the Community

Lacey's Spring Junior High Peer Helpers recently spent a meaningful day volunteering across Morgan County. The students began their field trip at the Boys & Girls Club, where they helped organize supplies, then made their way to the CCC to assist with sorting donations in the Community Closet. The day concluded with a special visit to the Senior Center, where they shared lunch and played bingo with local seniors. It was a full day of service, connection, and community impact, showcasing the power of youth engagement.

United Way Honors Outstanding Student and Adult Volunteers at Presidential Service Awards Ceremony

On April 29, United Way of Morgan County hosted a special Presidential Volunteer Service Awards Ceremony to recognize students and adults for their exceptional commitment to serving the community. While many students were honored during school-led ceremonies, this event celebrated homeschooled students, those whose schools did not host a program, and adult recipients who made a significant impact through volunteerism. In total, 61 participants contributed an impressive 7,453 hours of service across Morgan County. Guests enjoyed light refreshments before awards were presented by United Way President & CEO Kimberly Ray.
