United Way of Morgan County is thrilled to announce that the Girlfriends' Gala is set to enchant on April 6th, 2024, at the Burningtree Country Club in Decatur. This year's theme is "Once Upon a Time."

Prepare for an evening of magic, exclusively for ladies aged 18 and above, featuring dancing, photo booth fun, prize opportunities, and much more. Plan your table decor, don your most elegant ball gown and join us to create a night of enchantment.

By participating, you become the reason vulnerable women and children in our community can have a "Happily Ever After." Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference and experience the magic!

Tickets

Table sponsor is responsible for decorating table(s) and providing tableware. Set up is on Saturday, April 6th between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. Decorations must be taken down between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on the night of the event. For a fee of $100, UWMC offers the service of cleaning your table and storing your decorations until you're ready to pick them up. See Table Sponsor in our packet below for full details.

Schedule
  • Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
  • Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

    Set Up/Clean Up Schedule
    • Set up is: Saturday, April 6th - 7 a.m. - noon
    • Clean up is: Saturday, April 6th - 10 p.m. - 11 p.m.
    • For a fee, UWMC offers the service of decorating your table before the event and cleaning your table and storing your decorations after the event, Please read full service option below.
    Table Information
    • Tables are 60 inches round and there are eight (8) seats at each table.
    • No power/electrical outlets will be available at the tables.
    • You will need to provide:
      • 1 tablecloth (120'’ round if you want floor length)
      • Centerpiece - this may be as elaborate or simple as you prefer and we encourage decorating to the theme.
      • 8 place settings including chargers, silverware, glassware, and napkins. Please consider using high-quality and durable plastic silverware. The lighter weight utensils may not be adequate.

    Full Service Option

    Decoration Service
    • For a $300 donation to United Way of Morgan County, we have volunteers standing by to decorate your table for you. Just tell us your theme, and we’ll provide you with a setting to compliment your attire. You can book this service at the link below.
      Clean Up Service
      • For a fee of $100, UWMC offers the service of cleaning your table and storing your decorations until you're ready to pick them up. You can book this service when you purchase your ticket at the link below.

      FAQ's

      Where and when is it?
      • The event is taking place on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
      • It is being held at the Burningtree Country Club at 2521 Burningtree Dr SE, Decatur, AL 35603.
      Who is able to attend?
      • This is a women's only event.
      • The event is for women 18 years or older who have a ticket.
      • Please, no guests under the age of 18.
      What's the dress code?
      • Formal attire. This is your night to don your most elegant ball gown and enjoy getting dressed up.
        What do I need to provide for my table?
        • You will need to provide:
          • 1 tablecloth (120'’ round if you want floor length)

        What if I have an individual ticket?
        • You are responsible for decorating your table.
        • Please give United Way of Morgan County a call to discuss your decorations as there will be other guests at your table.
        Is it an open or cash bar?
        • It is a cash bar.
        • The servers are not allowed to serve alcohol.
        What are gentlemen servers?
        • Gentlemen servers are "local celebrities". In years past, we've had the District Attorney, the County Commission Chairman, and bank presidents as volunteers.
        • A gentleman server will be assigned to each table to deliver food and refresh tea and water.
        • Servers will be working for tips that will benefit UWMC, so be sure to bring cash to help each of them achieve their $200 tip goal for the evening.
        What if I have a special needs request?
        • If you know of someone at your table with special needs, e.g. wheelchair accessibility or food allergies, please contact Kathleen Ross with this information no later than Friday March 29th.
