In response to AmeriCorp's suspension of the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, the United Way of Morgan County (UWMC) has opted to present its own series of awards based on volunteer hours logged between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
Deadline for submitting a log of volunteer hours to UWMC for the "Volunteer United Service Awards" is April 2, 2027 at 3 p.m. Logs can be submitted via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or in person to the UWMC office at 115 1st Ave NE in Decatur.
"We are excited to keep recognizing the outstanding volunteers in our community," said Ms. Geiger, Director of Resource Development for UWMC. "The spirit of volunteerism is strong among our local students and adults. This award will recognize anyone from age 5 and older who meets the minimum total for each age division."
