Leadership Giving

Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.

For more than a thousand years, the red feather has been used as a reward for special acts. England’s Black Prince, during the Crusades, awarded it for unusual acts of valor or chivalry. American Indians awarded red dyed eagle feathers to their most fearless braves, and Robin Hood awarded a red feather to his men for acts of exceptional goodness.

In the same spirit, the United Way of Morgan County recognizes our leadership givers, those who contribute $1,000 or more, by offering membership into the Red Feather Society. The society’s members have done more than contribute money, they have inspired their others to join them in helping those less fortunate.

The Red Feather Society recognizes individuals providing annual support at levels of $1,000 and up:

  • Diamond Level – $5,000+
  • Platinum Level – $3,500 – $4,999
  • Gold Level – $2,000 – $3,499
  • Silver Level – $1,000 – $1,999
